To create the Red Vein, White Vein, and Green Vein Kratom used in Above the Waves blend, the Indonesian farmers Kats work with go to great lengths to use specific drying techniques developed over centuries of experimentation. These techniques include timed indoor drying combined with restricted exposure to sunlight. To produce the two red strains used in this blend, the Kratom cultivators place freshly-harvested Red Vein Kratom leaves inside burlap bags where they are left for 2-3 days to ferment. Then, the partially fermented kratom leaves are dried and pulverized into a fine powder and shipped directly to their docks at Kats Botanicals.
