Canopy Botanicals is not your typical kratom vendor. Rather than concentrating solely on its Mitragyna speciosa range, this company makes everything from coffee to handmade soaps. But does this all-encompassing approach pay off in the kratom department?

Welcome to this Canopy Botanicals brand review! If you are looking for an honest analysis that pulls no punches, you found it. In this post, I will break down the vendor’s kratom range, look at whether their products are worth the money, and what consumers think of them.

Before diving deep into all things Canopy Botanicals, let’s start by finding out more about the brand.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. The information in our articles are represented solely as the opinions of the respective authors, who do not claim to be medical professionals. We are not medical experts, just kratom enthusiasts.

Who is Canopy Botanicals?

Canopy Botanicals is a U.S.-based company with an impressive selection of natural products. This includes herbal teas, handmade soaps, coffee, spices, and seasonings. But I only have eyes for Canopy’s collection of kratom products.

The short ‘About Us’ page talks about marketing products at low prices while providing good customer service. There is nothing out of the ordinary or particularly special here, but at least they have taken the time to create the section and talk more about themselves.

As published on the website, Canopy Enterprise has an office in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Terms and Conditions page confirms that the Canopy Botanicals online store operates under the trading name of Canopy Enterprise (N.I.) Limited.

Beyond that, the Canopy Botanicals site is lacking. They don’t have a blog or say much about their kratom products, and I could not find a page linking to lab results. We will look more at these concerns in the ‘Is Canopy Botanicals Legit’ section.

Exploring the Canopy Botanicals Kratom Range

Canopy Botanicals has a broad array of botanical products. However, there isn’t too much in the way of kratom. While some brands offer various product types, Canopy sticks with kratom powder and extracts. But they still have plenty of strains and blends available.

Kratom Powder

Kratom powder might be bitter-tasting and less handy than other forms of Mitragyna speciosa, but it is still the cheapest. And an affordable experience is what you get when purchasing kratom powder from Canopy Botanicals.

The vendor has written short product descriptions for each strain, but they contain some vital details. We learn that Canopy sources kratom from Indonesia and that the powder is made exclusively with kratom leaf. But there wasn’t any info on the effects of different strains.

Canopy Botanicals notes that its kratom products are not for human consumption and must be purchased by persons aged 18 or over. This minimum age requirement keeps Canopy Botanicals in line with North Carolinian legislation.

Interested in buying kratom powder from this brand? Allow me to list some of the green, red, and white vein strains in their online store.

Strains: Canopy Green, Gold Bali, Green Asia, Green Malay, Red Hulu Kapuas, Red Maeng Da, Red Slippery Rock, White Elephant, White Ketapang, White Maeng Da, and more!

Bag Sizes: 25 grams, 125 grams, 250 grams, 1 kilogram

Kratom Extracts

If kratom powder isn’t potent enough for you, extra-strength kratom extract powder may better meet your needs. And you can find this more intense version of kratom at Canopy Botanicals.

Kratom extract powder is generally made by mixing kratom powder with an alkaloid-rich concentrate. This boosts the mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine levels in the powder, enhancing its overall strength. Subsequently, you don’t need to take as much to get your dosage.

Frustratingly, Canopy Botanicals doesn’t divulge much on its kratom extract powder, merely describing it as an “in-house made extract.” This creates several uncertainties, from how it is made to whether it is worth the money.

Canopy Botanicals stocks four types of kratom extract powder, with 10 grams packed into each heat-sealed resealable bag. At $13 per pouch, this product won’t break the bank. But unfortunately, there is no information on the potency relative to standard kratom powder.

Types: Extract Extract, Green X Extract, Red X Extract, White X Extract

Is Canopy Botanicals Legit?

As of June 2023, I am unconvinced by Canopy Botanicals - at least when it comes to kratom. But I will start with the positives before going in-depth about my doubts.

Canopy Botanicals has a 14-day return policy, which is one sign of a genuine brand. However, you cannot get a refund for an opened product - so, I am left wondering what the point is. Many kratom vendors will refund you provided most of a product’s contents are remaining.

There is nothing on the Canopy Botanicals website regarding third-party lab testing - not even a page with outdated results. It is difficult to take a vendor seriously when they don’t make an effort to communicate the purity and potency of their kratom products to prospective customers.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, then, Canopy Botanicals is not GMP-certified by the American Kratom Association (AKA). Being certified as a GMP-qualified vendor by the pro-kratom advocacy group serves as independent verification that a company has excellent manufacturing standards.

Ultimately, we are left to take Canopy Botanicals at its word. But they don’t say much in the first place. With so little oversight and information about products, I struggle to have confidence in this vendor. However, they offer a means of contacting them if you want to discover more.

What People Are Saying About Canopy Botanicals

Let’s not dismiss Canopy Botanicals until we have considered the opinions of kratom users. As of June 2023, their website has no customer reviews for kratom products. So, I set about scrolling through Reddit to unearth some independent thoughts.

I was pleasantly surprised by some of the comments I read. Despite my worries, it seems that some people are having a solid time with Canopy Botanicals. Take this post on r/kratom, for instance, which had several Redditors singing the vendor’s praises.

But u/mariospeedragon had a more blunt assessment of Canopy Botanicals in a post from 2020 on the r/KratomVendor subreddit. They argued that while low-tolerance users may be satisfied, other kratom consumers are unlikely to find much joy.

Overall, though, Canopy Botanicals fared better on the subreddits than I anticipated. These places are notoriously brutal, so it says something that the vendor emerged with its reputation intact.

Are Canopy Botanicals’ Kratom Products Worth the Money?

Canopy Botanicals deserves credit for not charging extortionate amounts, with one kilogram of powder costing less than $80. And if you want to experiment, you can do so relatively cheaply, with 25 grams of powder priced at less than $4. Few brands sell kratom at such a low price.

As for the kratom extract powder, I cannot make a call without knowing the potency. However, if you are curious about Canopy Botanicals, $13 isn’t too much to pay.

As for whether Canopy Botanicals’ kratom is worth the money, it depends on the quality. That seems obvious, but with no assurances given or refunds for opened products, buying from this brand is a risk. But at least you can explore their range without spending too much.

Final Thoughts

Canopy Botanicals may have been around for several years, but they still have work to do. Their online store lacks transparency and doesn’t inspire confidence. And with only kratom powder and extract powder for sale, there is a good chance they won’t have what you are searching for.

While I would not buy from Canopy Botanicals, plenty of people are happy with their products and customer service. But I cannot see myself joining them soon.
