GRH Kratom Brand Review [2023 Update]

The Lone Star State is home to multiple kratom vendors - and GRH Kratom is yet another Texas-based brand known throughout America. The retailer and wholesaler has an intriguing variety of kratom products, but is this company worth your time?

Let’s start by finding out more about GRH Kratom.

GRH Kratom, also known as Grassroots Harvest Kratom, is a vendor with a brick-and-mortar shop in Austin, Texas. But the brand is perhaps better known for its online store, which sells kratom products to individual customers and businesses.

The website’s Terms and Conditions page states that GRH Kratom is run by Empowered Creations LLC, which you can learn more about here. GRH Kratom’s Meet the Team mentions that the vendor was co-founded by Kemal Whyte and Gavian Barajas.

GRH Kratom is only interested in the highest quality kratom purchased directly from the source. The vendor has a long-term relationship with a family-owned kratom farm in Indonesia. This has helped them to consistently buy the best kratom and make it available to customers.

Furthermore, GRH Kratom’s comments suggest they are in it for the long haul. The vendor is vocally opposed to over-farming, which would adversely affect the longevity of the kratom farm they source from. It is satisfying to see an ethical kratom brand that cares about sustainability.

GRH Kratom is committed to using pure, fresh, farm-to-market kratom. The powder is harvested and ground in Indonesia before being shipped to Austin. And the company never uses additives, chemicals, or fillers in its kratom products - just 100% pure Mitragyna speciosa!

My initial browse of GRH Kratom gave me an excellent first impression of this brand. Let’s delve deeper into the vendor’s kratom powder, capsule, and extract products. GRH also has a range of kratom blends, which I will discuss in a separate section. Note: All prices were accurate at the time of writing (July 2023).

GRH offers an impressive assortment of kratom powders, with green, red, and white vein strains all available. The vendor has opted for known and sought-after strains rather than the obscure options you see with some retailers. And their store is better for it.

The brand explains that kratom powder is a best-seller and that the smoothness and potency of their strains often come in for praise. GRH ensures the powder is finely-ground and lump-free, which is paramount for that smooth texture. The kratom also has a fresh aroma.

Each product page contains a wealth of valuable information. Bizarrely, certain vendors say nothing about their powders. But GRH goes in-depth on how to use and store them and what they might be effective for. They also link directly to the relevant lab result.

GRH packages its organically-grown, ethically sourced kratom powder in resealable bags (except for the 45-gram option, which comes in a bottle). Here’s a glimpse of the strains and package sizes for sale - you can buy a 1-kilo bag for $100.

Capsules are a popular way of consuming the notoriously bitter kratom herb - and GRH knows it. When I checked, all of the brand’s kratom powders were available to buy in capsules. That includes slow red strains, balanced green vein kratoms, and energizing white strains.

Once again, GRH provides plenty of detail on potential effects, along with storage and consumption tips. For example, Green Hulu capsules could work well in the mornings or as an all-day booster. These general pointers are handy for curious newbies.

GRH packages its kratom capsules in airtight, resealable bags. While not stated in the product description, the packaging photo indicates that each cap contains 500mg (0.5g) of powder. But I could not establish whether GRH uses gelatin or plant-based capsules.

GRH’s kratom blends are available in powder and capsule form. These products are formulated to deliver specific kratom experiences. Here’s a short overview of the four blends they sell.

Boost: This proprietary blend from GRH combines various white vein strains. These may improve energy and focus levels without hitting you with an unpleasant crash.

Focus: Yellow and green vein strains come together in GRH’s Focus blend. This strain appears milder than Boost but may be perfect if you need to get your head down for long periods.

Joy: Get ready to embrace the good vibes with Joy, a kratom blend from GRH with a reputation for boosting mood and sociability. This product combines white and green vein kratoms.

Relax: Kick back and enjoy your evenings and nights with GRH’s proprietary red vein kratom blend. Several strains come together in this one to enhance your favorite red kratom effects.

The GRH store offers two liquid kratom extracts under ‘King K’ branding, which I understand is a subset of GRH Kratom. These kratom shots have a royal reputation and promise a smoother and more satisfying flavor than you get with low-grade liquid extracts.

Both King K Liquid Kratom Shots are enhanced with black pepper extract. This ingredient is described as a “natural enhancer of botanical products.” No doubt it helps improve the taste, too.

Premium-grade kratom shots are clean, pure, and potent and provide long-lasting effects. Here’s what you need to know about King K Silver and Gold.

King K Silver: This 30ml product contains 500mg of kratom extract and 150mg of mitragynine.

King K Gold: GRH’s more potent kratom shot boasts 1000mg of kratom extract and 300mg of mitragynine. At twice the potency of Silver, the King K Gold is certainly for experienced users only.

Both King K Kratom Shots are third-party lab-tested. These products are sold individually, in pairs, and in “Crowns” (15-bottle packs).

GRH has the vibe of a trustworthy kratom vendor. The company speaks like one with knowledge of the products they sell. And the team is direct and transparent on the topic of third-party testing.

Not only is every GRH product independently tested (by Columbia Laboratories), but all the results are available online. And the vendor links to the necessary certificate of analysis (COA) on the product page, so you know you are reading the right results!

Columbia Laboratories has a solid reputation and tests GRH's products for purity and alkaloid content. The COAs are genuine, but I noticed many were from 2022. So, GRH would benefit from updating these more often - this is only a minor quibble, though.

As of July 2023, GRH Kratom does not feature on the American Kratom Association’s (AKA) page of GMP-qualified vendors. I rank this as less important than posting third-party COAs, but getting such approval would be another step in the right direction for GRH.

The vendor’s return policy somewhat extends to opened products, which puts GRH above many brands. They claim to “offer partial or full refunds on opened items in certain circumstances.” I have seen more generous refund policies, although there is nothing wrong with this one.

GRH has done what is required to look legitimate. But has it paid off in terms of brand reputation? It is no good having a set of amazing kratom products if customers don't agree.

Firstly, GRH’s shop in Austin, Texas, has a 5.0/5 rating from 25 Google reviews. However, as a prominent vendor with several years of experience, I anticipated plenty of discussion about GRH on Reddit. And I wasn't disappointed!

In May 2013, u/Ok_Light_6219 reviewed GRH Kratom on the r/Vendorsofkratom subreddit. They enjoyed both strains they tried, describing the Super Green as giving them a “noticeable boost in energy and focus.” They also talked about experimenting with more strains going forward.

I spotted another positive GRH Kratom review on the same subreddit from 2022. The Redditor liked the vendor’s Green Maeng Da strain, calling it “super fresh stuff” in the comments - and I would agree from the photos they posted.

There is no doubt about it: GRH has a stellar reputation.

GRH is not prohibitively expensive for a third-party tested brand. Indeed, $100 for one kilo of kratom powder is cheaper than the prices charged by some untested vendors.

Making a calculation based on the capsule size, a 1000-count bag would give you 500 grams of powder for $120. That is not cheap, but kratom capsules never are. And compared to other brands, this vendor offers relatively affordable capsule products.

You can get free shipping from GRH Kratom, but there is a minimum order requirement. They may also throw in a freebie depending on how much you spend. This all helps make GRH one of the better value vendors in the American kratom market.

GRH Kratom impressed me in all departments. This brand has some excellent products, prices, and customer reviews. Furthermore, the vendor publishes third-party COAs and has an acceptable return policy. I rank GRH among the kratom industry’s top companies.
