Those searching for a new kratom vendor may have come across Kratom OG. This brand has been around a while and has a unique variety of kratom powders, as well as some crushed leaf and ‘stem and vein’ options. But is Kratom OG highly respected and regarded in the scene?

Let’s find out in this extensive brand review. Keep reading to learn more about Kratom OG’s history, pricing, transparency, reputation, and unusual strains. Once you have finished reading, you should be clear on whether Kratom OG is for you.

I will begin with some context and an introduction to this established online vendor.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. The information in our articles are represented solely as the opinions of the respective authors, who do not claim to be medical professionals. We are not medical experts, just kratom enthusiasts.

An Introduction to Kratom OG

Kratom OG is an online Mitragyna speciosa vendor. This brand should not be confused with OG Kratom, a similar company operating in the same industry. Kratom OG calls itself “Your Online Source for Premium Kratom” and claims to have “the best kratom available online.”

These are lofty claims, but ultimately pretty standard marketing spiel. After all, no company says, “Yeah, our kratom is okay.” Notably, Kratom OG takes a swipe at head shops selling products in “overly-hyped slick packaging.”

This vendor does not ship internationally (outside of the U.S.), and nor will it send orders to U.S. locations where kratom is illegal. Kratom OG does not sell products for human consumption and provides no direction for use. These are things Mitragyna speciosa vendors must say to protect themselves.

Kratom OG has a peculiar ordering system. Indeed, you cannot buy products directly from the website. You must place your order before contacting them to complete payment. This is an odd approach that probably puts some people off shopping there.

The Kratom OG website could set a better first impression. There is no About Us page or mention of the brand's mission and values. Instead, the vendor hopes its kratom products do the talking. They aren't alone in this, but I like to learn who is behind a company, why they got involved, and what they want to achieve.

Discover the Kratom OG Collection

Kratom powder makes up the bulk of the Kratom OG store. However, I spotted some crushed leaf kratom and ‘stem and vein’ powder while browsing. Despite being similar to kratom powder, these products have unique traits and deserve separate sections.

Let’s get stuck into Kratom OG's selection. All prices mentioned are correct as of July 2023.

Kratom Powder

As of July 2023, Kratom OG stocks almost 50 strains of kratom powder. These are divided into five categories: Green, Red, White, Gold & Yellow, and Exotic. I found the depth and breadth of the collection impressive. It is a cliché, but their store has a kratom strain for everyone.

The vendor’s range piqued my curiosity. Kratom OG stocks strains that I had never heard of, such as Green Paragin and White Pucuk. I'm unsure if they have unearthed some hidden gems or if this is a marketing tactic to attract attention.

Compared to some online stores, Kratom OG’s product pages are relatively informative. Each kratom strain is accompanied by a photo and description. For example, the OG Red Thai Maeng Da is said to have a “very high mitragynine content.”

Kratom OG doesn’t provide packaging information. However, most kratom vendors use food-grade resealable pouches or vacuum-sealed bags. I would be surprised if this company does differently. Here is a snapshot of the powder strains for sale at Kratom OG.

Strains: Chocolate, Elite Elephant, Gold Banjo, Green Bota, Green Hulu, Green Paragin, MD Ultra, OG White Maeng Da, Pink Elephant, Premium Red Maeng Da, Red Aceh, White Banjo, White Pucuk, Yellow Magic, and more!

Kratom Stem & Vein Powder

Kratom stem and vein powder is a niche alternative to plain-leaf kratom powder. Not all retailers stock it, but Kratom OG offers a ‘Stem & Vein Powder’ product sourced from Kapuas Hulu. The powder is finely ground and has a color resembling a dark white kratom strain.

The “fine grind” comment is notable since stem and vein powder is renowned for its rough texture. Furthermore, these parts of the Mitragyna speciosa tree are less potent than its leaves. Some users have suggested that the stems and veins have a much different alkaloid makeup.

Regardless, Kratom OG’s Stem & Vein Powder is clearly a hit, with the vendor stating that it restocked the product upon request. This product costs the same as their plain-leaf powders. ‘Stem and vein’ is sometimes a little cheaper, but it depends on the brand.

Crushed Leaf Aceh Kratom

Green Crushed Aceh is the sole crushed leaf kratom strain in the Kratom OG collection. This product is sourced from the Northern Aceh region, and you can only buy it in limited quantities.

Crushed leaf kratom does not have a fine grind like powder, as Kratom OG’s photo of the Crushed Aceh shows. While that makes it less palatable for the ‘toss and wash’ method, crushed leaf kratom is well-suited to brewing infused teas. Hint: it is much easier to strain!

Don’t fret. This is still an alkaloid-rich, plain-leaf kratom product oozing with mitragynine. But that means it also has the same bitter taste! However, if you love kratom tea and want a more efficient way of making it, Kratom OG’s well-balanced Crushed Leaf Aceh could be ideal.

Is Kratom OG Legit?

If I was asked to sum up Kratom OG in one word, I would say “peculiar.” This vendor is unconventional in all areas, from the strains it sells to the purchasing process.

I found no evidence that Kratom OG’s products are lab-tested. Some stores publish third-party certificates of analysis (COAs) online or supply them when asked. This company invites you to contact them for assistance but does not explicitly mention lab testing or COAs.

As of July 2023, the American Kratom Association (AKA) does not class Kratom OG as a GMP-qualified vendor. Therefore, we have no independent assurances on the brand’s manufacturing and processing procedures. That said, many companies lack this accreditation.

The Kratom OG is devoid of information we take for granted from other vendors. Since there is nothing regarding returns and refunds, I assume all sales are final. If you receive a below-par batch, it might be worth reaching out to them soon after receiving your product.

Kratom OG talks like a company that understands the herb. However, I am baffled by the business approach. They seem friendly, but there isn’t enough going on to win over skeptical shoppers. I think the vendor’s kratom is genuine - but I wish they would do more to prove it!

Kratom OG Brand Reputation

So, what does the average humble kratom user think of this brand? There are some lovely customer reviews on Kratom OG’s website, but these can only instill so much confidence.

I was more interested in what the savvy kratom lovers of Reddit had to say, which annoyingly wasn’t much in recent times. Redditor u/-SkiLLs mentioned Kratom OG on r/kratom in 2018. “I like the Premium Kalbar which is a green,” said u/SKallday. However, they added that “some of the whites have been misses for me.” Then again, kratom is notoriously hit-and-miss at the best of times.

In January 2018, u/kratombag left a favorable in-depth review of Kratom OG on the r/kratomm subreddit. They waxed lyrical over the kratom powder’s beautiful appearance and described a “flour-like consistency.” The Redditor reserved praise for two strains: Ultra MD and Super Red.

A more recent comment on r/smallbatchkratom shone a light on the obscure Pucuk strain sold by Kratom OG. Redditor u/Transformato referred to Green Pucuk as a fast strain that is “very pro-social.”

Whatever my concerns, Kratom OG is pretty popular on Reddit - and that cannot be ignored. Going by what I read, this brand has a decent reputation.

Are Kratom OG’s Products Worth the Money?

Affordability is Kratom OG’s big selling point. They market kratom powder kilos (single strains and split kilos) at $89, which is markedly less than you will pay at many places. However, I would expect these low prices from a brand without visible lab results.

There is no suggestion that Kratom OG offers free shipping. However, there are several things this vendor doesn’t mention! But work on the assumption that there will be a standard shipping cost on top of your order.

Kratom OG’s powder and crushed leaf could be worth the money, depending on your needs. And the prices are low enough to tempt you into trying them, especially if you aren’t bothered about seeing a COA before buying. You can pick up 100 grams (3.3oz) of powder for a mere $18.00.

Final Thoughts

Overall, there are upsides and downsides to buying from Kratom OG. The low prices, rarely-found strains, and positive reviews work in its favor. But the absence of third-party lab results and the complex ordering system go against them.
