Pure Leaf Kratom Brand Review [2023 Update]

Trust me, shopping for kratom is a tricky process, especially nowadays! So many brands claim to sell high-quality products, but not all of them are up to the mark, and working out who to trust can take plenty of research. In this review, we will be looking at Pure Leaf Kratom.

Analyzing a kratom vendor involves exploring several areas. For instance, why is Pure Leaf Kratom in the industry? What products do they sell and what they are like? Is this brand worthy of your trust and custom? I will be focusing on all of these questions - and more!

Before we embark on our investigation into Pure Leaf Kratom, let's get a general overview of the brand.

Pure Leaf Kratom is an online kratom store with an office in California. Their website is operated by Outcast Distribution, LLC, which was incorporated in 2018. Despite the name similarities, Pure Leaf Kratom is independent of PurKratom and Pure Kratom LLC, two other U.S. vendors.

The Pure Leaf Kratom ‘About Us’ page tells us the company was established in 2019. They have a familiar origin story, with the founders spurred into action after realizing how little affordable and high-quality kratom was out there.

Pure Leaf Kratom’s values include quality, transparency, and customer satisfaction. And they work to make this a reality by sourcing premium kratom from Southeast Asia, processing and packaging products themselves, and providing first-class customer service.

The California-based vendor has a mighty kratom collection, with a mixture of own-branded products and goods from other manufacturers. I will primarily concentrate on Pure Leaf Kratom’s own products while giving my thoughts on the other brands they choose to stock.

Pure Leaf Kratom has a varied - albeit not massive - selection of kratom powder strains. These are described as all-natural and 100% organic, which is precisely what I want to hear!

You will recognize familiar strain names such as Bali, Borneo, and Maeng Da, but the lesser-known Red Kali may be new to you. Some of Pure Leaf Kratom’s powder products are also available in Extra Strength form, something I am sure regular users will be pleased to learn!

Kratom powder is still the cheapest way of experiencing the Southeast Asian herb. The ‘toss-and-wash’ method is ideal if you can cope with the flavor, but making tea is another viable option. And with Pure Leaf Kratom’s products, there are several methods for doing just that.

Not keen on kratom powder? Pure Leaf Kratom’s capsule products may be a better fit. These take the taste out of the equation while bringing convenience and accuracy to your doses.

As with the powder, Pure Leaf Kratom has a limited but solid variety of kratom capsule products. Strains like White Borneo are perfect for lifting energy levels, while a kratom such as Red Bali is more likely to take the edge off and leave you feeling at peace.

Annoyingly, I could not find details on the size or type of capsules that Pure Leaf Kratom uses. So, if you have any vegan-related concerns, I would suggest contacting their support team.

If regular kratom products leave you wanting more, high-strength kratom extracts could be what you need. These enhanced products have an increased alkaloid content, which makes for more efficient consumption and more potent effects.

As of June 2023, Pure Leaf Kratom does not manufacture own-brand extract products. But the vendor has an array of kratom shots, extract powder, extract capsules, and more from other brands.

Some of these companies - such as King Kratom, MIT45, and O.P.M.S. Kratom - are well-known. However, others go under the radar. I recommend sticking with brands the American Kratom Association recognizes as GMP-qualified vendors.

Pure Leaf Kratom has a separate category for ‘Raw Kratom Extracts’. This is reserved for a niche selection of extract powders and capsules. It is not obvious how these differ from the other kratom extracts, but the Silver, Gold, and Black extract products promise intense effects.

Silver Extract: Made with 100% pure kratom extract and contains 30% mitragynine.

Gold Extract: Created with 100% pure kratom extract and boasts a 45% mitragynine content.

Black Extract: These pure kratom extract products have a mighty 70% mitragynine content.

This category consists of various kratom products with an energizing twist. None of these products are from Pure Leaf Kratom, but the range isn’t short of industry big-hitters, with Hush Kratom, MIT45, and VivaZen all featuring. Let me give you a flavor of some of these products.

Hush Kratom Extract Energy Shot: This energizing 2oz shot contains full-spectrum kratom extract and 60 to 65mg of mitragynine. The orange flavoring gives Hush Kratom’s shot a satisfactory taste. Sold individually and in multipacks.

MitraRush Kratom Extract Powder Energy Drink: Enjoy rapid kratom effects with MitraRush’s energizing instant drink mix. And with 50mg of mitragynine per sachet, don’t even think about underestimating it. MitraRush’s powder energy drink mix has a tasty pink lemonade flavoring.

I want to keep this section simple by focusing on Pure Leaf Kratom’s own-branded products. You can find in-depth reviews of many other brands this vendor sells on the Kratom Monkey blog.

Pure Leaf Kratom makes the right sounds about credibility, quality, and transparency. However, I have doubts and am not entirely convinced by what I have seen.

I was confused by the vendor’s website page regarding third-party lab testing. Pure Leaf Kratom describes how important independent testing is and the different purity and potency checks that products are subject to. But I could not find links to any actual results.

This could be a site error, and perhaps they can supply any certificates of analysis you want to see upon request. They talk about providing excellent customer service, after all. Hopefully, all the results are in order, but it would help if these were readily available and accessible.

Moreover, Pure Leaf Kratom is not GMP-certified by the American Kratom Association (AKA). I appreciate there may be reasons why some brands cannot pursue this accreditation. But it would serve to build confidence in the brand. 

My concerns aside, Pure Leaf Kratom enjoys a superb reputation on Reddit, with numerous users praising the brand. Let’s take a look at a few of the positive comments.

A post by u/washingtonshighlife on the r/smallbatchkratom subreddit was mostly complimentary about Pure Leaf Kratom. Several strains came in for praise, as did the vendor’s stylish and high-quality packaging.

I came across more good words for Pure Leaf Kratom on the r/Vendorsofkratom subreddit. In October 2022, u/Fabulous-Ambition-24 curated a post describing why Pure Leaf Kratom might be their new favorite brand. Although not everybody in the comments was so keen on them.

Pure Leaf Kratom is on the more affordable end of the spectrum. You can pick up one kilo of kratom powder for them for less than $70. And they charge less than $80 for 1,000 kratom capsules. Some brands will give you barely half that amount at that price.

That said, the absence of AKA accreditation means they cannot feasibly charge too much. But if you are looking for a bargain, given all the positive reviews I found for Pure Leaf Kratom, they probably are worth the money.

Pure Leaf Kratom has a stellar store, especially when you factor in all the premium products from other brands. The kratom community raves about this vendor’s products, and they won’t break the bank.

I still have reservations about Pure Leaf Kratom and I would like to see them go further on transparency. But overall, they seem like a decent company, and it is no surprise that they are doing well.
