Top Tree Herbs is a kratom tea and capsule vendor located in Denver, Colorado. The website is operated by Bright Botanicals LLC, a Colorado-based company that, according to Moody’s Analytics, was founded in 2020. Top Tree Herbs is both a retailer and wholesaler.

The brand launched with a clear mission: to transform the U.S. kratom market. Many vendors sell Mitragyna speciosa (kratom) in finely-ground powder form - but the herb is arguably better suited to being consumed as a tea.

Top Tree Herbs has set out to change the dynamic and introduce consumers to the wonders of kratom-infused tea. And they are doing so with a collection of crushed leaf kratom tea bags and blended tea bags that combine Mitragyna speciosa with other renowned herbs.

Teas are a traditional way of enjoying kratom in its native Southeast Asia. And Top Tree Herbs is inviting everyone to do the same with their high-quality kratom tea products. They also sell teaware and have educational content, including brewing guides, on their site.

The Our Story page explains how Top Tree Herbs was founded by Soren and Sam. The two friends are well-versed in the world of herbal substances. They talk of “changing the narrative” and ending the stigma that persists around kratom. Fair play to them for that!

Now we know more about Top Tree Herbs and the vendor’s ambitions, let’s delve deeper into their innovative kratom range. From refreshingly unique tea bags to classic capsules, this kratom brand has a cutting-edge product for everybody.

Top Tree Herbs offers an array of pure-leaf kratom tea bags. These products are made with premium crushed-leaf kratom and biodegradable, non-GMO, plant-fiber bags. Each resealable pouch contains 14 tea bags filled with 3 grams of kratom apiece (42 grams total).

The Top Tree range consists of red, green, and white vein strains. Whether you want an invigorating morning brew, a well-balanced afternoon tea, or an easy-going evening beverage, they have it.

The four strains are available in both raw leaf form and with an infusion of natural flavorings. For example, you can buy Top Tree’s White Thai kratom tea bags with a mango or passion fruit twist. These cost a little more, but it is a small price if you dislike kratom’s sharp flavor.

And for those who don’t know where to begin, Top Tree offers a Kratom Tea Starter Bundle for $35. This pack comes with two pouches of kratom tea bags, a 25 oz insulated thermos, and a couple of stickers - everything you need to start your kratom tea journey.

Strains: Green Bali, Red Bali, Red Dragon, White Thai

Top Tree also has a selection of herbal blends. These kratom tea bags pair Mitragyna speciosa with carefully chosen herbs to promote specific experiences. Top Tree’s Herbal Blends are sold in 8-count resealable pouches with 1.5 grams of crushed-leaf kratom per tea bag and 3 grams of herbs in total. The vendor stocks eight herbal blends - I want to focus on five.

Borneo Berry Bliss: This herbal blend combines 1.5 grams of White Borneo kratom with chamomile, hibiscus, rosehips, and South African rooibos. These caffeine-free tea bags also contain natural blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry. Yummy.

Chamomile Chai: Red Maeng Da kratom teams up with chai spice and chamomile flowers in this adaptogenic evening tea from Top Tree Herbs. Organic cardamom seeds, cinnamon bark, licorice root, and orange peel are also present in this product.

Lavender Earl Gray: Experience Darjeeling-sourced tea with a kratom twist. These Lavender Earl Gray tea bags combine Super Green Malay kratom with organic black tea. Like Top Tree’s other herbal blends, this product is kosher, USDA organic, and Fair Trade certified.

Maeng Da Morning: Start your day right with a citrusy concoction of lemony herbs and energizing White Maeng Da kratom. This herbal blend contains organic lemongrass, lemon peel, lemon verbena, lemon juice, and a smidge of honey to sweeten the brew.

Thai Energy: Prepare for blast-off with Top Tree’s Thai Energy tea bags. Uplifting White Thai kratom combines with organic ashwagandha root, guayusa leaf, spearmint leaf, yerba mate leaf, and more. This blend is ideal first thing in the morning or as an afternoon pick-me-up.

Top Tree Herbs has a small selection of white, green, and red vein kratom capsules for those who prefer flavorless consumption. The vendor uses plant-based, gelatin-free capsules, packing 500mg (0.5 grams) of pure kratom powder into each.

Top Tree’s Kratom Capsules do not contain additives, fillers, preservatives, starch, or wheat. According to the ‘Product Facts’, the kratom tests at 1.07% mitragynine and 0.0156% 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-HMG).

All four strains are sold in resealable 70-count pouches, currently priced at $17 each. However, you get a 15% discount for purchasing two to four pouches and 25% off if you buy five pouches or more.

Top Tree Herbs has invested plenty of effort into its kratom collection. Few vendors can attest to putting so much care and attention into creating kratom products. Therefore, it is no surprise that Top Tree is doing what is required to appear credible and legit.

Third-party lab testing is crucial to the company’s authenticity. All of Top Tree’s kratom tea and capsules are independently analyzed for purity (heavy metals, microbes, and more) and alkaloid concentration (mitragynine, 7-HMG, and minor alkaloids).

Columbia Laboratories, a reputable Oregon-based laboratory, does the testing for Top Tree’s kratom products. And the vendor posts the certificates of analysis (COAs) on their site for all to view. Let’s hope they keep them regularly updated.

I was confused by Top Tree’s claim about being cGMP-certified by the American Kratom Association (AKA). As of July 2023, the company is not on the organization’s list of GMP-qualified vendors. Maybe they were approved in the past but haven’t been audited recently. I’m not sure.

Top Tree Herbs has an underwhelming return policy. Only unopened and unused products are definitely eligible for return within 30 days of purchase. They decide whether to offer store credit for opened products “on a case-by-case basis.” But evidently, there are no guarantees.

I am confident that Top Tree Herbs is an ethical and legit vendor. However, I would like to see a more comprehensive return policy and clarity on the AKA situation.

The Top Tree site has some positive customer reviews - but they don’t seem to use a third-party verification system. Regardless, I prefer to check out what the good people of Reddit are saying when deciding on a kratom brand’s reputation.

A few Redditors spoke highly of Top Tree Herbs in a thread on r/Vendorsofkratom. “I love Top Tree bc the emphasis of this company is research, research, research,” said u/KnowledgeChoice7790. Another user described the vendor as having “A+ tea bags.”

I found favorable comments from 2022 on r/smallbatchkratom. “Super cool product,” said u/BubbleBoyBotanica. “I have 4 different kinds of tea from them and so far they are great,” was the endorsement from u/Plaincheddar96.

There weren’t too many Reddit posts about Top Tree Herbs, but I didn’t spot anything negative. So, it looks like the vendor has been well-received by the kratom community.

Top Tree has a different kratom range, yet they don’t charge over the odds. I think the company’s regular kratom tea bags and herbal blends are value for money. Given the lack of market competition for these products, they could feasibly charge more. But what about the capsules?

Let’s do the math. A bundle of five kratom capsule pouches would cost $63.75 (75% of $85 ($17 x 5)). That would amount to 350 capsules and 175 grams of kratom powder. Since kratom caps cost more and Top Tree uses high-quality kratom powder, this is a fair price.

As of July 2023, you get free shipping for orders totaling $50 or more. When considering the costs alongside the brand’s reputation, it would seem Top Tree’s products are worth the money.

Top Tree Herbs is making good on its mission to change up the kratom industry. I love how much thought has gone into the products, and they make a compelling case for switching from kratom powder to tea!

If I am being ultra-picky, the return policy could be more generous. But Top Tree’s kratom looks like the real deal, so you are unlikely to encounter issues. This vendor has made a bright start and is set for an even brighter future.
