Elephant kratom is a relatively rare Indonesian strain - but its impressive effects have sparked a surge in popularity! Renowned for its punchy potency, Elephant rivals heavy hitters like Maeng Da for strain intensity, as more and more kratom users are finding out!

In this comprehensive guide, I will delve deep into the world of Elephant kratom. What do red, white, and green Elephant have to offer? Where can you buy this strain? Is it legal? What are its downsides? I will answer all those questions and more in this review.

Now you know what we are discussing, let’s get stuck in!

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. The information in our articles are represented solely as the opinions of the respective authors, who do not claim to be medical professionals. We are not medical experts, just kratom enthusiasts.

What is Elephant Kratom?

Elephant kratom is a somewhat rare kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) strain, which some users consider more mature and potent than other kratoms. This strain grows in Indonesia and produces large, floppy leaves that resemble an elephant’s ear - hence the name!

Kratom’s unique and cherished properties come from the herb’s indole alkaloids. While Elephant kratom produces dozens of these compounds, mitragynine accounts for more than half of a strain’s alkaloid content. The 7-hydroxymitragynine alkaloid is a distant - but very potent! - second.

Types of Elephant Kratom

Elephant kratom is a typical Mitragyna speciosa strain, coming in three vein varieties with each producing predictable effects. Let’s lift the lid on red, white, and green Elephant and help you make the right choice.

Red Elephant

Red Elephant is the slowest and most mellow strain in the Elephant kratom range. You may experience a satisfying body buzz, euphoric and happy sensations, as well as a general sense of peace and well-being.

Red Elephant is excellent for experimenting with in the evenings. However, with the potential for a couchlock effect, I wouldn't recommend using this red vein strain at work or during the daytime.

White Elephant

Indulge in a much different kratom experience with the energizing white Elephant strain. Perhaps you need a pick-me-up to get you through a physically demanding day. Or maybe you want something to keep you switched on, focused, and alert as you carry out mundane tasks.

In either case, White Elephant is the kratom strain for you. However, given the fast speed of this white vein kratom, Elephant might not be best if you are vulnerable to getting the jitterbugs.

Green Elephant

Take the best of both from red and white Elephant and enjoy an infused, well-balanced kratom session with the impressive green Elephant! True to form, this green vein kratom can easily handle any scenario, whether you want a lift to start your day or something to wind down with.

What to Look For When Buying Elephant Kratom

While there is some excellent Elephant kratom in production, the industry is littered with low-grade and even fake products. As any long-time kratom user knows, the market is a minefield, and it's easy to get ripped off.

Thankfully, consumers aren't helpless. With a little research and some shopping smarts, you can find some elite Elephant kratom at a fair price. Here are three things to look for when you shop.

100% Organic, Non-GMO Mitragyna Speciosa

The best Elephant kratom is 100% organic and free from genetic modification. Spraying kratom trees with pesticides and dousing soil with synthetic fertilizer is unnecessary and harms product quality.

Organic kratom has a more balanced alkaloid profile, a better taste and aroma, and it is less prone to causing side effects. This all makes sense. Allowing kratom to grow naturally means no exposure to foreign substances and a reduced risk of contamination.

But it is not enough for a kratom brand to claim organic status. The data must be there to back it up, which brings me to lab testing.

Lab Results and Brand Reputation

Third-party lab results and brand reputation go hand in hand. Companies with blemish-free reports are rightly looked upon favorably. Brands that sell Elephant kratom products without lab results are unsurprisingly viewed with suspicion.

Without a relevant lab report, you cannot tell if your Elephant kratom strain is pure and potent. But lab testing shines an independent light on a product and is the best the kratom industry has given there is no FDA regulation.

Approval from the American Kratom Association (AKA) as a GMP-qualified vendor bolsters a brand's reputation. It is no substitute for specific lab reports but shows that a kratom company works to high manufacturing standards.

Fantastic Customer Service

Good kratom vendors are knowledgeable, approachable, and committed to making your shopping experience the best it can be. Answering questions, dealing with complaints, and giving perks to loyal users are all part of delivering great customer service.

All good retailers provide multiple means of contact. While email and phone do the trick, some stores offer live website chat, a nifty feature that enables you to receive rapid responses to your queries.

The best vendors are confident about the quality of their stock and horrified when they make a mistake. Look for stores with a money-back guarantee policy. Even the top vendors occasionally get things wrong - what matters is how quickly they put things right.

Is Elephant Kratom Legal?

Elephant kratom is legal in most parts of the United States. There are no federal restrictions on kratom, but several states, counties, cities, and other jurisdictions have banned the substance. Kratom is illegal in:

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Indiana
  • Rhode Island
  • Vermont
  • Wisconsin

Check that kratom is permitted in your area before placing an order. My legal guide covers everything you need to know about U.S. kratom law.

Where to Buy Elephant Kratom

Elephant kratom doesn't have the name recognition of Maeng Da or Bali, so don't expect to find it everywhere. But potentially, any of the following stores may stock Elephant kratom:

  • Dedicated kratom retailers
  • Herbal stores
  • Natural health shops
  • Convenience stores
  • Head shops and smoke shops
  • Gas stations

I suggest avoiding the bottom three, as all have a reputation for selling kratom of questionable quality.

Specialist online kratom vendors stock a more extensive range of strains than anywhere else. These are your best bet if searching for Elephant kratom products.

And, of course, purchasing kratom online saves time and money. There's nothing worse than trekking to the store, only to find your favorite strain is out of stock.

How to Store Elephant Kratom

Knowing how to store kratom is crucial for safe and cost-effective use. Shoddy storage methods cause a rapid decline in freshness and potency at best and contamination at worst.

Light degradation, oxidation, and heat exposure can all cause alkaloid degradation and destroy the potency of your kratom product. Kratom is best kept in a dark, dry, cool place, such as a closet. But anywhere that fits this description will work.

Feel free to keep Elephant kratom capsules in their original bottle. But consider decanting Elephant kratom powder into an airtight container. Mason jars are perfect for this purpose and superior to the resealable bags kratom powder is sold in.

Oh, and one more thing - keep your kratom out of reach of children!

Elephant Kratom: Side Effects and Safety Tips

Kratom use can have adverse effects, so it helps to know about potential negative outcomes and what safety precautions you can take. Let’s start with the side effects…

  • Agitation
  • Constipation
  • Dry mouth
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Increased urination
  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea and vomiting

Kratom also has more severe but rare side effects, which typically occur in higher dosages. These include psychosis and seizures. Click here for more details.

Safety Precautions

I have five tips for staying safe with kratom and minimizing side effects.

Drink water: Kratom is a diuretic substance that causes dehydration. Avoid nasty headaches by keeping your fluids topped up.

Don’t mix substances: Combining kratom with alcohol, cannabis, opioids, or other drugs is an absolute no-no. Having a cocktail of substances in your system is a recipe for side effects.

Don’t drive: Kratom can make you drowsy, so don’t think about driving after dosing up.

Schedule tolerance breaks: Your body will become tolerant to kratom with regular use and demand higher dosages to produce the same effects. But larger dosages increase the risk of negative outcomes. Stop your serving sizes from spiraling by taking days off now and again.

Consult your doctor: Have a health-related kratom question specific to your circumstances? Ask the internet, not your doctor!

Final Thoughts

Elephant kratom is an exciting strain with classic characteristics and ultra-potent effects. It's likely better for seasoned users than beginners, but anybody can enjoy awesome kratom experiences with Elephant strains.
