White Sumatra is a beginner-friendly kratom strain that offers energizing and relaxing effects, which are especially useful for long and strenuous tasks.

What Is White Sumatra Kratom?

White Sumatra is a variation of the kratom plant, also known as Mitragyna Speciosa, which originates in the countries of Southeast Asia.

Kratom is a tropical tree that can grow up to 80 feet tall, and can be found in four color variations, including:

1. White

2. Red

3. Yellow/gold

4. Green

White strains are primarily known for their energizing effects, but some can offer additional benefits as well.

The name of the strain is usually attributed to the location where it was founded. Hence, we know White Sumatra is originally from the island of Sumatra.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. The information in our articles are represented solely as the opinions of the respective authors, who do not claim to be medical professionals. We are not medical experts, just kratom enthusiasts.

What Does White Sumatra Taste Like?

Most kratom strains taste pretty similar. So, if you've ever used kratom, you already have a good idea of what White Sumatra tastes like.

However, I have to add that White Sumatra, is slightly less bitter. The earthy and sharp taste is nevertheless, present in the strain.

The powder is very fine, much more so than sugar or table salt.

In my opinion, and that of many of my friends whom I've shared kratom with, White Sumatra taste similar to matcha.

White Sumatra Kratom Effects

Like most white strains, White Sumatra is primarily used for its energy boosting properties.

Upon ingestion, two alkaloids, Mitragynine and 7-Hydroximitragynine, contained in the trees' leaves bind to the same receptors in our brain as opioids, and thus, produce very similar effects.

However, White Sumatra has additional mild uses.

Energy

I love using White Sumatra when I need a pick-me-up for work or the gym. Its energy boost is much more gradual and well balanced than caffeine, and doesn't produce the same side effects, like jitteriness and/or a hard crash.

If your job requires intense physical labor, you're going to love White Sumatra. The energy boost lasts 3-5 hours.

However, if you want the best energizing strain, check out White Maeng Da, the king of white strains.

Relaxation

Although not as relaxing as red or green strains, White Sumatra is capable of producing decent relaxation, both mental and physical.

When I use White Sumatra, I feel energized but also calm, which helps me focus on the task at hand.

The relaxation effect is known to last 3-5 hours.

However, for the most potent relaxing strains, try Red Bali or Red Borneo

White Sumatra Kratom Side Effects

White Sumatra can change your life for the better, but just like caffeine, if you abuse or misuse it, side effects can occur.

I have experienced side effects for two reasons:

1. Not drinking enough water

2. Taking more White Sumatra than I should have

When I don't drink enough water while using kratom, the result is usually a dry mouth and/or constipation. Luckily, the side effects go away after immediately drinking 2-3 cups of water.

If you accidentally take more White Sumatra than your body can handle, the consequences are a bit more unpleasant.

I specifically remember taking White Sumatra twice in the same day as a beginner, only to experience the worst nausea of my life. Fortunately, there was no vomiting involved, as some people have testified.

I quickly found out there was nothing I could do to make the nausea go away. Therefore, I laid down on my back and watched the clock tick by. After roughly 2 hours, the nausea dissipated on its own.

If you want to avoid a similar fate, be very smart about your dosage. Don't take more than your body can handle.

White Sumatra Kratom Dosage

Your dose is going to depend on a few factors, including:

1. Weight

2. Gender

3. Tolerance

Also, more food you have in your system usually weakens the effect of your dosage.

Since I don't know anything about you, I went ahead and created a table with suggested starting doses based on your weight.

Please do not take White Sumatra kratom twice in the same day if you are new to the herb, as doing so is very likely to produce side effects.

How Long Does White Sumatra Take To Kick In?

The answer to this questions is going to completely depend on how you use White Sumatra.

For example, capsules take much longer to kick in vs tea.

The table below demonstrates the fastest ways of experiencing White Sumatra's  effects.

How To Use White Sumatra Kratom

When the kratom leaves are harvested, they are dried for a few weeks, then grounded into a fine powder that can be used as is or converted into additional types of products.

However, the following three ways of using White Sumatra are the most popular.

Capsules

Pros:

- No bad flavors

Cons:

- Higher cost

- Take the longest to kick in

- Effects are slightly less potent

Capsules are ideal for people who can't tolerate White Sumatra's bitter taste.

At Kratom Monkey, our capsules hold 0.7 grams of powder and are made with vegan material to avoid producing allergic reactions in certain people.

Tea

Pros:

- Kicks in super fast

- Potent results

Cons:

- Effects don't last as long

- Pungent bitter taste

Tea is my least favorite way of using White Sumatra, as it's highly inconvenient and time consuming to prepare. Also, coming from someone who doesn't mind the powder's taste and texture, I really don't enjoy the taste of tea.

If you do decide to prepare a White Sumatra tea, make sure to never boil kratom, as doing so will destroy its alkaloids and reduce the potency.

Toss & Wash

Pros:

- Kicks in fast

- Potent results

- Lowest cost

Cons:

- Extremely bitter taste

- Some people may not enjoy the powdery texture

The toss and wash is my favorite way to use White Sumatra because of the potent and fast effects.

However, it's not for everyone, as the taste and texture are very harsh.

The toss and wash requires you to take a spoonful of powder, swirl it around your mouth with water, and gulp it down.

How To Store White Sumatra Kratom

Storing White Sumatra requires minimizing its exposure to three elements:

1. Sunlight

2. Heat

3. Humidity

Therefore, the worst places for storage include:

  • Sinks

  • Bathrooms

  • Ovens

  • Chimneys

  • Heaters

  • Stoves

  • Window sills

  • Cars

On the contrary, the best places to store White Sumatra are:

  • Closets

  • Pantries

  • Drawers

Failing to properly store White Sumatra can result in a reduction of potency, as the alkaloids are destroyed by the three elements mentioned above.

What is White Sumatra's Shelf Life?

I have stored kratom for up to a year without noticing any potency reduction whatsoever.

However, I'm certain that storing White Sumatra in an air tight container will increase the one year shelf life.

White Sumatra Similar Strains

If I use White Sumatra for extended periods, I develop a high tolerance to only White Sumatra. We call this Stagnant Strain in the kratom community.

Fortunately, stagnant strain has a very simple soluton, which requires rotating between strains. The strains can be similar to each other or not at all.

I usually rotate strains every week.

If you need similar strains to rotate with White Sumatra, consider the following.

White Maeng Da

White Maeng Da is the king of white strains because it's the most energizing strain available.

If you need to step up the energy effect, White Maeng Da will do you justice. It also promotes relaxation.

White Thai

White Thai produces the same effects as White Maeng Da, but is slightly less potent.

Im my opinion, White Thai is in between White Maeng Da and White Sumatra with regard to potency.

Therefore, if you're looking for a similar strain, definitely check this one out.

Is White Sumatra Kratom Legal?

Yes, White Sumatra kratom is legal in United States. Technically speaking, federal law had failed to create any laws or regulations around kratom.

Hence, Kratom is federally legal because the government has not made it legal. In other words, by default.

However, state and local governments have taken further action against kratom. The following six states have completely outlawed its use, possession, and distribution:

1. Alabama

2. Arkansas

3. Indiana

4. Rhode Island

5. Vermont

6. Wisconsin

Some cities have followed suit, regardless of kratom's is legal status in their respective state. Therefore, be very mindful of kratom laws, as they can change by city and county.

White Sumatra Kratom Buying Tips

If you're looking for high quality White Sumatra, then you have to read the following three buying tips.

They will protect your wallet and, more importantly, your health.

Organic

The first thing you want to look for before buying White Sumatra is an organic label, which means the product is free from heavy metals, pesticides, and harmful pethogens like E. Coli and Salmonella.

Lab Tested

Third party lab tests certify the concentration of alkaloids in the product. Thus, allowing you to compare the potency between various vendors while also shielding you from false or outlandish vendor claims.

Guarantee

The third thing you want to look for is a customer guarantee. Only vendors with high quality products will back up their claims.

Hence, the better the guarantee, the more confident the vendor.

Is White Sumatra Right For You?

Alright, so you're still not sure whether White Sumatra is right for you? No problem. Allow me to simply the matter for you.

If you're new to kratom and desire an energy boost to help you get through the day, try White Sumatra. If you're not new to kratom and are looking for an energy boost, try White Maeng Da.

If relaxation is your ultimate goal, you're better off with a green strain for the day time or a red strain for evening or night.
