What is Red Borneo kratom?
Like all kratom, Red Borneo is made from the dried crushed leaves of kratom trees (Mitragyna speciosa). Unlike other strains, Red Borneo comes only from Borneo, a topical island in the Java Sea (and the world’s third largest island) that is shared by the nations of Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei.
Leaves from kratom trees have been used in traditional medicine in Southeast Asia since at least the eighteenth century.
Because Red Borneo kratom is produced from the most mature leaves, it has an exceptionally high alkaloid content. This kratom strain also carries unique properties due to the specific climate and weather patterns of Borneo island.
Red Borneo kratom is further differentiated from other red strains because of the shallow and relatively neutral soil from which most of Borneo’s rainforest grows, including most of the island’s Mitragyna speciosa trees.
Red Borneo Kratom Harvesting and Drying
As the popularity of kratom strains have increased worldwide, the leaves have become one of the most important exports from the Borneo region. To make Red Borneo kratom, farmers on the island wait to harvest the leaves until they are perfectly mature without any dead spots.
